Noida revives bus service

Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation revived its CNG bus service on six routes in Noida . Diesel autos were also banned from the same day.

Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) revived its CNG bus service on six routes in Noida on Wednesday. Diesel autos were also banned from the same day.

UPSRTC assistant regional manager Sandeep Raizada said: “The frequency of the buses during peak hours would be 15 minutes and for rest of period 30 minutes.”

“The fare structure would be Rs 3 up to 4 km, Rs 5 for 4-8 km, Rs 7 for 8-12 km and

Rs 10 for distances greater than 12 km,” he added.

Noida Authority CEO Mohinder Singh said: “We intend to launch CNG-based tempo and autorickshaw service soon. Temporary stands are being constructed at six sites.”

SP (Traffic) Ajay Sahdev said: “Once public transport is available on main roads, rickshaws would be banned from them. This will help reduce congestion. Rickshaws would be allowed to ply only between sectors.”
