Lauding the role of the police and security agencies in combating terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, state Director General of Police (DGP) Gopal Sharma has said the situation will soon return to normalcy.
"The selfless service, sacrifices and devotion of police and security forces has started giving positive results on the ground and the state is fast heading towards complete normalcy," Sharma said on Tuesday while reviewing the overall security scenario at a meeting at the zonal police headquarters.
Inspector General of Police K Rajendra Kumar apprised the DGP about the anti-terrorism measures taken by the force and the situation in the valley.
Earlier, Sharma paid a surprise visit to various sections of the zonal police headquarters.
Meanwhile, the IGP has ordered the promotion of 15 selection grade (SG) Constables to Head Constables.
He also approved the provisional promotion of 288 other SG-Constables to the rank of Head Constables, subject to their passing of the pre-promotion course.
