Informing about this, State Election Commissioner Aparmita Prasad Singh said that the SEC was ready with the poll schedule. “Once the notification is issued by the commission, the poll process would not be postponed,” he said. A meeting of the Home department officials will be held under the chairmanship of Singh on Monday to discuss deployment of police force during the poll.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Singh asked the Urban Development (UD) official s to submit a report regarding the poll notification of the three Nagar Panchayats including Railway Settlement, Mughalsarai (Chandauli), Renukoot (Sonebhadra) and Dasna (Ghaziabad). After the UD officials submitted a detailed report late in the evening, the State Government issued an amended poll notification for the three Panchayats.

UD department officials clarified that the State Government had notified Railway Settlement, Mughalsarai as an industrial area. Elections will be held in Renukoot, as errors in the voter list have been corrected, officials informed.

Meanwhile, the State Government has asked for a fortnight’s time to complete the delimitation and reservation work in Dafna Nagar Panchayat in Ghaziabad district.

Separate petitions on civic polls will be taken up for hearing at Allahabad High Court and in Lucknow Bench of the High Court on Monday. Till late evening on Sunday, UD officials were busy preparing the affidavit to be submitted in the High Court.

In the earlier hearing, the HC had expressed dissatisfaction over the election notification and asked the State Government to issue notifications for all the Nagar Nigams, Nagar Palika Parishads and Nagar Panchayats.
