Notorious criminal gunned down
A THIRTY-five-year old notorious criminal carrying an award of Rs 2,500 was gunned down in an encounter near Malaiya Bridge in Dafi area on Monday morning. The deceased was wanted in 15 criminal cases by different police stations in Varanasi and Chandauli. He was identified as Buddhesh Mishra alias ?Baba?.
A THIRTY-five-year old notorious criminal carrying an award of Rs 2,500 was gunned down in an encounter near Malaiya Bridge in Dafi area on Monday morning. The deceased was wanted in 15 criminal cases by different police stations in Varanasi and Chandauli. He was identified as Buddhesh Mishra alias ‘Baba’.
Cops of the Special Operation Group (SOG), Lanka and Ramnagar police stations gunned Mishra in a joint operation. The SOG were tipped of some notorious criminals were going to murder a person in Lanka. The SOG team swung into action near Tengra Mor in Dafi area.
Two youths riding a motorcycle appeared on the scene. As the police waved them to stop, the youths opened fire and started fleeing. Immediately, the SOG members informed the cops of Lanka and Ramnagar police stations.
After a short chase the police gheraoed the fleeing miscreants near Malaiya Bridge and gunned down one of them.
