He said a suitable piece of land was also identified for the purpose at Kunjwani bypass a few years back and a signboard was also put up there indicating the site for the installation of the statue.

Singh said the statute could not be erected as the land was acquired for four-laning of the road. An alternate rotary was required to be identified so that the demand of the people for installation of the statue of the founder of the state could be fulfilled.

Singh added that the issue had been taken up several times by the Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha and also with the authorities concerned at government level, including divisional commissioner, NHAI besides others, but the much needed action was still awaited.

He shared the concern of Rajput Sabha that the government was contemplating the installation of statute of some political personality at the said place.

Warning the government to desist from such a misadventure, Singh said no other political personality could match the charismatic statesmanship and herculean contributions of late Maharaja Gulab Singh for the state and the nation.
