NSCN-K militant killed, three others arrested in Assam

An NSCN-Khaplang militant was killed and three others were arrested today in a gunfight with security forces in Assam’s North Cachar Hills district.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of police and Army raided Lungchirum village in the district and an encounter followed, police said.

An NSCN-K militant was killed in the encounter and three others were arrested, they said.

Two US-made pistols and a local made rifle with several rounds of ammunition were seized from the militants, police said.
