Nursing a noble profession

NURSING was a very noble profession. Indeed it needed big determination as serving people was not an easy job. Women being an epitome of love, compassion and emotion could do it better than their counterparts, said Allahabad University vice-chancellor Prof Rajen Harshe while addressing the students of Jyoti Hospital Nursing School during the capping ceremony here on Monday evening.

He said rural India needed more attention in health care than urban areas. Only a good nurse and the technical staff could do wonders in villages, he said.
While expressing his concern over the ‘no work culture’ in the State, he said UP is losing its glory. It was the land of many a great people.

If UP falls, India would fall. We need to develop a strong work culture in the State.

He thanked Dr AK Bansal and Dr Vandana Bansal for creating a working atmosphere in the city.

CMO and guest of honour Dr Shantimal Singhvi while addressing the students said, there was a great demand of nursing and paramedical staff in our country.

Now the government is very serious to provide good medical care.

Private as well as government hospitals are required to take the service of only qualified nurses and paramedical staff.

Jeevan Jyoti Hospital director Dr AK Bansal while addressing the gathering expressed his concern over shortage of nursing and paramedical staff. Opening a nursing school was a small initiative to fulfill this acute dearth, he said. “Now Allahabad University has an international scholar Prof Rajen Harshe as the vice-chancellor. With him, the expectation of the students and people are growing manifold.”

He urged Prof Harshe to retrieve the past glory of the ‘Oxford of the East’.

The programme was inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Prof Harshe. The staff of the hospital presented a welcome song. Dr Bansal welcomed the guest while Dr Alok Khare proposed the vote of thanks.

The chief guest also presented the excellence certificates to the meritorious students. Dr Vandana Bansal presented mementoes to the chief guest, guest of honour and other guests.
