The concert, to be held at the Burnhamthorpe Library Theater, is being organised by Cross Currents-Indo-Canadian International Arts with the help of the Mississauga Arts Council, reports the South Asian Observer.

Lowen, an artiste from the US, is today considered among the leading classical dancers.

Said Meena Chopra, the woman behind the concept of Cross Currents: "Sharon has bridged cultures performing extensively throughout the world, including India, the US, Canada, Mexico, Indonesia, Malaysia, Africa, Australia, England and the Middle East."

Lowen, who went to India in 1973, is one of the leading artistes of three forms of Indian dance - Odissi, Chhau and Manipuri. She has made India her home.

She has served as a visiting professor in various Indian and US universities and presented several lecture-demonstrations at universities, schools, museums and art centres.
