Overwhelmed by the responses, Omar plans to pen down the sequence of events in the run up to his captivating speech in a book. “I was going to narrate the incidents that led to my speech, but I guess I will save them for my book if I ever get down to writing one,” he wrote on his blog.

Regarding the protests in Jammu over his speech, Omar said: “...the sad, but somewhat predictable, reaction to my speech in Jammu has been a source of much anguish for me”.

The blog has become quite popular, particularly among the youth, after his speech which also got about 11,000 hits in a single day on Youtube.

Commenting on his blog, Raghavramaiah from Bangalore wrote: “What a speech sir. Ultimate! I was completely flattered seeing the way you spoke. I am your fan now. I am proud to say India has some great politicians like you. Hope to see more of you in future.”
