One held for raping Ukrainian tourist in Goa

A person has been arrested for allegedly raping a 25-year-old Ukrainian tourist at Arambol beach near here, police said on Wednesday.

Accused Tenzin Dorji, a native of Jammu and Kashmir, took the victim to a hillock near Arambol beach on the pretext of teaching her meditation on November 12 and raped her there.

The accused also threatened her with dire consequences and assaulted her causing injuries, police said.

The victim lodged a police complaint on Tuesday following which the accused was arrested, they said.
