Orientation programme concludes

Around 26 participants from various parts of the country attended the programme and gained practical knowledge in the Academic Staff College’s newly constructed computer lab.

The programme began with the inauguration of the computer lab by the vice-chancellor of Allahabad University Prof Rajen Harshe. The participants were given hands-on knowledge of computers and various IT developments that have taken place during the recent years.

Experts like Prof Ravi Srivastava, Prof KP Pandey, Prof T Pati, Prof GK Rai, Prof UN Agarwal, Prof Lal Bahadur Verma, Prof PN Mehrotra, Prof Alok Dubey, Prof Hemlata Srivastava, Prof PK Sahu, Dhananjay Chopra, Prashant Srivastava, Prof NR Faooqui and Prof PP Tripathi delivered informative lectures for the benefit of the participants.

Deputy director of AU Academic Staff College Prakash Sinha was the convenor.
Director of Academic Staff College and head of the AU Zoology department, Prof Pratima Gaur, said that AU’s Academic Staff College was ranked among the top four in the country. “Various orientation programmes being organised here emphasise on inter-relations between different subjects.

The new computer lab having 24 computers is an important step forward that will benefit participants from all over the country in the coming year,” she said.
