Parents of Utsav Sharma (29) have moved an application at Ghaziabad chief judicial magistrate's (CJM) court for treatment of their son as they stated that their son was suffering from 'bipolar-disorder'.

Sharma's parents moved an application on Friday stating the names of two hospitals where their son could be referred, at the discretion of the court, for treatment. Sharma's lawyer SP Chaudhary told Hindustan Times, "We have named two hospitals, Institute of Mental Health at Agra and Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences at Delhi, where he could be sent for treatment or any other hospital deemed fit by the court."

Sharma's parents have also refuted police's claims that their son wanted to murder Talwar. Utsav Sharma is presently facing attempt to murder charges and also the provisions under 7 Criminal Law Amendment Act. The CJM's court has sought medical papers and report from Dasna jail authorities after receiving the application. The next hearing on Sharma's application would take place on January 31.
