Over 20,000 class-X students skip Hindi board exam in UP

Over 20,000 examinees of 10th standard in eight districts of Uttar Pradesh did not appear for compulsory Hindi paper examination conducted by the state board.

Over 20,000 examinees of 10th standard in eight districts of Uttar Pradesh did not appear for compulsory Hindi paper examination conducted by the state board.

According to UP Board of High School and Intermediate Education officials, of the 20,135 absent students, 2,704 were from Muzaffarnagar, Meerut (3,782), Ghaziabad (3,019), Noida (1,538), Bullandshahar (3,083), Saharanpur (2,506), Bijnore (2,094), Baghpat (1,319) districts.

The board will look into the matter, they said.

It is compulsory to pass Hindi subject to get through the board examination, West zone board secretary Y N Singh said.
