Speaking at a reception accorded to him by the DCC in Thrissur, Ravi said cases of job hunters being cheated by agents were on the rise, despite the best efforts initiated by state and central governments.

He said local bodies' authorities and state governments would be asked to ascertain the genuineness of the activities of recruiting agents.

To a question, he said while the External Affairs ministry dealt with government-to-government diplomacy, the Overseas Affairs Ministry was for looking after the problems of over 2.5 crore People of Indian Origin spread over 110 countries in the world.
