The Sikhs would lodge a protest in this regard, he said adding the community would not tolerate such interference in their religious affairs.

Talking to reporters Fatehgarh Sahib, Makkar alleged encroachment had taken place on the land of Sikh shrines in Pakistan.

He also alleged a trust property board in Pakistan had sold around 35 acres of land belonging to Gurdwara Dera Chahal on the outskirts of Lahore.

Seeking Prime Minister's intervention, the SGPC chief said Manmohan Singh should take up the matter with his Pakistani counterpart.
