Pak producer also jump onto Bollywood bandwagon
Pak film producer Shehzad Gul has announced that he will be hiring Indian playback singers for his next film.
Joining a bandwagon of Pakistani entertainment luminaries in criticising Lollywood as unprofessional, Pakistani film producer Shehzad Gul has announced that he will be hiring Indian playback singers to score the music for his next film.

Presently scanning colleges here in the hope of discovering fresh talent, Gul told the Daily Times that he had signed on Udit Narayian, Alga Yagnik, Sadhna Sargam and Shriya Gopal, who appeared in the Devdas soundtrack, to sing in his Rs.3 crore film "Iman".
He also confirmed that some parts of the film would be shot in Rajasthan, while the balance would be shot in neighbouring Sindh. Describing "Iman" as a love story, Gul said he would be working mostly with Indians.
While Amjad Bobby, a Pakistani will compose the music of the film, the arrangements have been done by Yogesh, who worked on the Bollywood blockbuster Devdas.
"Honestly speaking, they (Indians) are more professionally sound than us," he said, adding that Pakistani singers and musicians were most unprofessional.
"We have no young singers that can be compared to the likes of Sonu Nigam. He has immense knowledge of music and recording. "The singers in Pakistan get exposure on television by rehashing old songs, but they don't have an in-depth knowledge of music.
Ninety-nine percent of musicians in this country do not start a shift before noon, despite the fact that the shift starts at 9 a.m. For good song compositions, one needs 100 to 200 violins. None of the musicians have more than 15 violins. There is no proper recording system. In India, they are now using a computerised recording system," Gul claimed.
He was also scathing in his comments about Pakistani choreographers.
"Not one of them has a professional regiment of extras. Here, grandmothers who have been associated with studios for several years try to get their grandsons or granddaughters in songs as extras. In India, if a choreographer has 50 extras all the girls will have the same height and physique. In Pakistan, if there are 10 girls in a song, the rest will be eunuchs. Filmmaking can't be done like this," he said.
