Pak to play 3 Tests on next India tour

Pakistan will play three Tests and seven one-day internationals on their next tour of India, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan said on Tuesday.

"Pakistan will tour India in either 2008 or 2009 to play three Tests and seven one-day internationals," he said.

The exact dates of the tour have yet to be finalised, but both countries have agreed to play each other every two years like Australia and England do in the Ashes series.

India wrapped up a tour of Pakistan earlier this month.

India snapped bilateral sporting ties with Pakistan in 2000 over political tensions. They toured Pakistan in 2004 for the first time since 1990. Pakistan paid a return trip to India in 2005, their first since 1999.

Khan said cricket has helped foster ties between the neighbours.

"Since the deadlock was broken two years ago, cricket has played its part in strengthening the relationship," he said.
