The UGAT was conducted in three shifts at 15 centres across the city here on Wednesday. Around 18,000 students took the admission test.
The centres, conducting admission tests, included KP Inter College, Kulbhaskar Ahsram Degree College , Kulbhaskar Ashram Inter College, Ishwar Sharan Degree College, Bishop Johnson Civil Lines, Bishop Johnson Kutchery, Arya Kanya Inter College, Boys High School, Colonelganj Inter College, Mary Lucas Inter College, Mary Wannamaker Inter College, KN Katju Inter College, CAVE Inter College, Allahabad Degree College and Sewa Samiti Vidya Mandir.
Confusion prevailed among the students following rumours that question paper was leaked when the examination was being conducted.
On hearing the news of leakage of question paper, the students were about to leave the examination halls. But when they were told that it was simply a rumour, they returned to their seats and took the examination peacefully.
However, chief proctor Dr Sashank Chandra Dwivedi denied any such incident.
He said that it was a mere rumour and added that 97 the results would be declared by June 30.
He said that the test was conducted peacefully and no untoward incident was reported from any centre during the examination.
