Partial bandh observed in Jammu

Shops and commercial establishments remained closed in parts of Jammu district today in response to a bandh called by different political and social organisations to protest appointment of a non-Dogra as Vice Chancellor of Jammu Central University.

Shops and commercial establishments remained closed in parts of Jammu district today in response to a bandh called by different political and social organisations to protest appointment of a non-Dogra as Vice Chancellor of Jammu Central University.

The bandh evoked good response in the city though life was normal in the outskirts and other parts of the district, officials said.

The bandh was called by Jammu Provincial People Forum, Jammu Joint Student Federation, Jammu State Morcha, JKNPP, Jammu University Central Morcha and Shiv Sena to demand appointment of local person to the post.
