At a meeting held a day ago, Paswan and his party office-bearers decided that they would also put up candidates in the states that go to polls next year – Delhi, Rajasthan, MP, Himachal Pradesh and Chattisgarh. Mayawati too has planned that her party should enter the poll arena in these states in a big way to eat into the Dalit support base of major parties.

In a bid to challenge Mayawati’s sway in UP, Paswan has set up a team of leaders to tour the state to probe atrocities on Dalits and Muslims.
