Patil sent flowers and a get-well card to the actor through the Governor's office in Mumbai to Leelavati hospital where Bachchan is undergoing treatment, an official said.

Bachchan was admitted to the hospital on Saturday after he complained of stomach ache due to suspected incisional hernia, giving anxious moments to fans on his 66th birthday.

Hospital sources said Bachchan's condition was stable but it was not yet clear how long he would have to stay there.
