Pay for plane use, CM told

State EC asks Vilasrao Deshmukh to pay for using a Govt aircraft during his Pune and Kolhapur visits, reports Shailesh Gaikwad.

State Election Commissioner Nand Lal has asked Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh to pay for using a government aircraft during his Pune and Kolhapur visits on December 24-25, after the election code of conduct had set in. The order was issued on January 19.

Nand Lal did not accept argument by the Chief Minister’s Office that Deshmukh was entitled to a government plane as part of his Z plus security cover. Instead, he has now asked Deshmukh to pay the State Treasury by February 2. Deshmukh said he was not aware of the order.
