Pema Thinley

He was arrested from Majnu-ka Tila -a Tibetan settlement, in Delhi during a raid in 1993 while trying to work out a deal. During the course of investigation he admitted to procuring skins for Sansar Chand. Mohammed Yakub was a co-accused in this case. Sansar Chand's lawyer represented them in court.

Seizure included 43 leopard skins, 6 tiger skins, 2 tiger cub skins, 287 kg tiger bones, 128 otter skins and 34 other skins including black bucks, fishing cats, leopard cats, civets, hill foxes and desert cats. The case is still being heard in Tis Hazari.

Since his arrest, he rarely directly deals with skins and stays mostly in Leh. He has become a networking specialist with extensive contacts in Tibet and Nepal. The enforcement agencies believe he is also linked to Tashi Tsering.
