"It is shameful that a person claiming to be a leader of a particular party has stooped to this level of personal attack which is nothing but per se defamatory and per se unwarranted utterances purely on the private life of the General Secretary of the AIADMK," D Jayakumar, AIADMK headquarters secretary, said in a memorandum to the Election Commission.
Citing the writings of DMK president M Karunanidhi in the party organ "Murasoli", he said that the DMK leader had referred to Jayalalithaa as a "barren, childless woman in a derogatory manner, which is a personal attack having nothing to do with her political leanings".
