Personality of the Decade Awards conferred

K G Foundation has conferred 'The personality of Decade Award' on four eminent persons on Wednesday.

City-based K G Foundation has conferred 'The personality of Decade Award' on four eminent persons, including Dr Tetsuo Kanno, Department of Neurosurgery at Fujitha Health University, Japan, who had treated former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M G Ramachandran.

Receiving the award at Coimbatore on Wednesday night, Kanno said that fast growing nations like India should come forward to help poor countries like Africa.

In order to attract young neurosurgeons from different parts of world including Africa, Latin America and Saudi Arabia, an international conference would be held in Japan in November, Kanno said.

Others who were conferred the award were Shanker Annaswamy, Managing Director, IBM India, Dr Yoko Kato, Professor, Department of Neurosurgery at Fujitha Health University and Dr Sudhansu Bhattacharya, Cardiac Surgeon, Mumbai.

The foundation also conferred 'Teacher of the Decade Award' on Prof Dr A Raja, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and Dr Dilip Panikar, Professor, Department of Neurosurgery, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi.
