The Congress leaders Akhtar Baig and K K Mishra have sent a new petition to the President asking him to revoke actress Hema Malini's nomination as a Rajya Sabha member.
After suffering a setback in the lower court on their complaint against film actor and BJP candidate from Bikaner seat, Dharmendra, the Congress leaders Akhtar Baig and K K Mishra have sent a petition to the President of India for revoking film actress Hema Malini's nomination as a Rajya Sabha member.

They sent the petition to the President through registered post on Friday through their counsel Shailendra Dwivedi.
The duo said in the complaint that Hema Malini's nomination papers had the name of Dharmendra as her husband whereas Dharmendra, in his reaction to the complaint in court against him, had claimed that his wife's name is Prakash Kaur and that it was her name that was mentioned in the nomination papers.
However the complainants argued that Dharmendra had not formally mentioned Prakash Kaur's name on his nomination papers and he had also left the column on the nomination papers for his children empty.
Thus the Congress leaders said that by claiming that Dharmendra is her husband Hema Malini had made a false statement regarding her credentials on the papers and had concealed facts. She had also taken the oath as wife of Dharmendra on October 16, 2003, which was not true. Hence the request for revocation for her nomination as a Rajya Sabha member, they added.
