'Phone tapping issue fallout of UP politics'

The phone-tapping controversy, where many politicians alleged that their telephones were being tapped, is the fallout of the Uttar Pradesh political scenario, according to Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan.

The relationship between the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh and the Congress, which is supporting it, had soured and the phone-tapping issue was a fallout of this, the Lok Janashakti party leader said.

"Telephone tapping is improper," he told reporters in Kochi.

Every party was demanding an inquiry, he said adding his party was not in favour of tapping the phones of politicians.
