A bench of chief justice D Murugesan and justice Jayanth Nath also issued notices to the board and the Delhi government on the petition filed by Association for Social and Humanitarian Affairs, an NGO.

The PIL filed by the organisation's president Kuldeep Singh Bhogal has sought a direction to the sports ministry to declare BCCI as a national sports federation and take control of the BCCI and all its cricketing activities. The court has fixed the matter for hearing on August 14.
