According to the report from Dr Lal Pathology Labs there were traces of cocaine in Rahul's urine samples. The detailed statement made by Karan Ahuja, who was present at 7, Safdarjung Road, also says the same thing -- that Rahul, Vivek Moitra and Sahil Zarru took drugs on Thursday night after which Rahul and Moitra fell unconscious.

Additional DCP Manish Aggarwal said, ''Sahil has said he got the drugs and gave them to Rahul and Moitra.” Rahul’s past may be catching up with him. The police are investigating whether he had been to a rehab centre.

There have been reports that he has had a history of drug abuse and has visited rehab centres on three previous occasions. "The idea is to prove that this was not the first instance where Rahul consumed narcotic substances," said a senior police officer.

Rahul's phone records analysed by the police can also be used as evidence against him. Sources said contact numbers of many drug peddlers were found in it.
