Poppy worth lakhs destroyed in J-K village

In a joint operation, the Jammu and Kashmir Excise Department and police on Saturday destroyed poppy worth lakhs of rupees in Pulwama district.
Poppy cultivation spread over 20 acres of land in Dogripora village and Kawani-Awantipora, 35 km from Srinagar, was destroyed jointly by the excise departement officials and police, a police spokesman said.
