Pravin was blackmailing Pramod Mahajan, says younger brother

Pravin, who is serving life sentence for murdering Pramod in 2006, has levelled various allegations againt the late BJP leader in the purported excerpts from his coming book carried by a Marathi daily.

Prakash Mahajan, who is younger to Pramod, refuted Pravin's allegation at a press conference, and said that it was a "political conspiracy".

When asked what led to Pramod's murder, Prakash said, "He (Pravin) was blackmailing Pramod. When Pramod stopped helping him, this (murder) happened." "Blackmailing means not about character. There are various ways of blackmail." When a scribe asked if he meant "emotional blackmailing", Prakash answered "yes, it was emotional blackmailing." "As Pramod's own family grew, he could not give much attention to Pravin," he said. Prakash also questioned the "timing" of publication of allegations, but refused to name any political party as being behind it.

He claimed Pravin was disgruntled because "his self interests were not being taken care of" and he had got used to "getting everything free" Prakash further said.
