Presiding over the Vector Borne Disease Control Society meeting his camp office recently Amrit Abhijat said a survey should be conducted in Shankargarh, Koraon and Bara areas to identify pits where rainwater gets collected.
These pits should be either filled with mud or insecticide sprinkled to stop mosquito breeding.
A detailed work plan of fogging should also be prepared for the Jamuna paar area. "For effective implementation, there is also need to associate cleanliness drive with the national programme," he added.
Amrit Abhijat directed the Mukhya Nagar Swasthya Adhikari to conduct regular fogging in 80 slums in Allahabad. The fogging should start from May 25 and the District Urban Development Agency (DUDA) should provide atleast 200 safai karamcharis for this work.
He also made an appeal to the general public to cooperate with the government agencies for effective implementation of anti-malaria programme.
Any complaints in this regard should be made to the chief medical officer, he said.
The meeting was also attended by the chief medical officer Dr Shantimal Shangvi and Dr Manvendra Tripathi.
