Prez refers OoP petition against Ramadoss to EC

The disqualification petition against Ramadoss was referred by President Kalam to EC a few days ago.

In the midst of his battle with AIIMS Director P Venugopal, Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss now faces a petition seeking his disqualification as MP.

The disqualification petition against Ramadoss on the ground that he was holding an office of profit as President of AIIMS was referred by President APJ Abdul Kalam to the Election Commission a few days ago, sources said.

The petition, filed by a retired bureaucrat, was under the process of the Commission, sources said.

Venugopal, who is at loggerheads with Ramadoss, had earlier sought the Minister's disqualification in his petition before the Delhi High Court accusing him of holding an office of profit as AIIMS President.
