The students are demanding 27 percent reservation for OBCs, revocation of the decision of reduction of seats and implementation of central fee structure in the varsity.

Students led by student leader Dr Nirbhay Singh Patel, Ripusoodan Yadav, Zia Kaunen Rizvi and Munna Singh Yadav formed a human chain around the VC's office and shouted slogans in support of their demands.

Addressing the students Dr Patel said that the anti-reservationists staged protests at the time of Mandal Commission but failed to stop reservation and once again they would lose the battle as reservation is constitutional right of the backwards.

Student leader Zia Kaunen Rizvi urged the AU student union office bearers to support the demonstration while Munna Singh Yadav urged the pro-reservationist students not to stay at ease and continue their efforts in order to achieve the goal of reservation.

Among those who formed the human chain were Dr Patel, Ripusoodan, Rizvi, Munna Yadav, Nirbhay Narayan, Sandeep Yadav, Chandrika Patel, Aditya Vikram, Mohit Patel, Sunil Kushwaha, Sushil Patel, Lalaram Saroj, Suresh Yadav, Jaisram Verma, Hasnain Ahmed and Ajit Bhaskar.
