Student leaders Abhishek Shukla, Zia Kaunen Rizvi, Ripusoodan Yadav and Dr Nirbhay Singh Patel lead the procession. Speaking on the occasion Patel and Yadav charged the VC with following policies against the minorities and working as the successor of former AU Vice-Chancellor GK Mehta. Lala Ram Saroj and Shailendra Bahadur Singh said, the varsity administration had adopted negative approach towards the backward and minority section and restricting them from acquiring higher education.

Student leader Shukla said that students had not benefited from the Central University status attained by the varsity as there has been no reduction in fee while the seats were reduced.

Umesh Upadhyay, Raghavendra Patel and Irshad Ullah criticised the decision of AU authorities to do away with the evening classes and demanded transparency in the admission process. Rizvi advocated for restoration of old admission rules for the Urdu and Arabic quota. Reservation demanded:Students demanded reservation during a meeting held at the union hall on Tuesday under the presidentship of student leader Dr Nirbhay Singh Patel.

Addressing the meeting, Dr Patel said the varsity authorities have challenged the students and the students were ready to fight for their right. He said the students would desist the admissions if the authorities overlooked their demands. He also criticised the VC for his dictatorial role in the varsity and demanded the AU Executive Council to call an emergency meeting to discuss the issues of reservation, fee and seats in the varsity.

Sant Lal Verma said that meetings would be held at the delegacies and hostels before the commencement of admissions. Ziya Kaunen Rizvi, Ram Pratap Yadav, Raghvendra Patel, Sandeep Yadav, Jais Ram Verma, Harish Chandra Patel, Bhupendra Singh and Mohit Patel also expressed their views at the meeting.
