Daler Mehndi is to perform to collect funds for Imran Khan's hospital in Lahore.

Punjabi pop star Daler Mehndi is likelyto performin Lahore later this month to collect funds fortheShaukat Khanum Memorial Trust Hospital (SKMT) founded by formerPakistan cricketcaptain Imran Khan in memory of his mother, who diedof cancer.

According to the Daily Times, Mehndi told one of his friendsin Lahorethathe was happy about coming to Pakistan, but wasn't sure whether Pakistani authorities would clear the visit. If the clearance is given, the pop star would perform on September 26 in Lahore and in Karachi on September 27.

The Pakistani government had refused Mehndi a visa earlier in the wake of tensions between India and Pakistan afterAugust's twin bomb blasts in Mumbai.

Thistime, SKMTofficialshavereportedlyassuredthe governmentthat they would arrange proper security for themega pop star.

Meanwhile, Mehndi is scheduled to perform with Pakistan artistes at London's Wembley Hall on September 20.
