Daler Mehndi is to perform to collect funds for Imran Khan's hospital in Lahore.
Punjabi pop star Daler Mehndi is likely to perform in Lahore later this month to collect funds for the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust Hospital (SKMT) founded by former Pakistan cricket captain Imran Khan in memory of his mother, who died of cancer.
According to the Daily Times, Mehndi told one of his friends in Lahore that he was happy about coming to Pakistan, but wasn't sure whether Pakistani authorities would clear the visit. If the clearance is given, the pop star would perform on September 26 in Lahore and in Karachi on September 27.
The Pakistani government had refused Mehndi a visa earlier in the wake of tensions between India and Pakistan after August's twin bomb blasts in Mumbai.
This time, SKMT officials have reportedly assured the government that they would arrange proper security for the mega pop star.
Meanwhile, Mehndi is scheduled to perform with Pakistan artistes at London's Wembley Hall on September 20.
