The 5.2 magnitude tremor was felt at 1516 hours, a spokesman of the Met office told PTI.

The epicentre of the quake was in Afghanistan's Hindu Kash region, located at 36.5 degrees North Lattitude and 71.2 degrees East Longitude, he said.

The tremor, which lasted for a few seconds, rattled windowpanes and doors of buildings, prompting the inhabitants to rush out for safety.

There was, however, no report of any damage or casualty reported from anywhere, police said.
