Quota issue: Gujarat medicos hit the streets

Medical students in Gujarat took to the streets to protest the proposed quota hike in institutes of higher education.

Medical students in Gujarat on Monday took to the streets to protest the proposed quota hike in institutes of higher education.

Dr Jayesh Vazirani of BJ Medical college, who is leading the agitation, said the students have divided themselves into eight teams comprising of 20 students and were protesting at all main crossroads of the city.

"The protest will continue till afternoon," Vazirani said adding, the agitating students would also conduct a signature campaign against reservation.

Medical students in the city are on indefinite strike from Saturday.
