The number of assets owned by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has declined since 2009 but their market value has doubled in the last five years.
According to Rahul’s affidavit for the Amethi Lok Sabha seat, his assets have risen to Rs 9.4 crore from Rs 4.7 crore in 2009.
In the last five years, he has sold two shops in a mall and exited an agricultural property in Haryana. He continues to own a share in the Indira Gandhi Farm in Delhi.
The increase is attributed to appreciation in property prices and disclosure according to circle rates.
The two-term Amethi MP will file his nomination papers on Saturday.
