Railways warns against unauthorised website
The site has been posting misleading information about results of job selections in the eastern and northern railway zones, reports HS Bartwal.india Updated: Oct 25, 2006 19:52 IST
The Railways has issued a general warning to the public against a private website that has been posting "misleading" information about results of job selections in the eastern and northern railway zones.
It has come to the notice of the authorities that the 'railwayindia.org' has recently published results of group 'D' posts of Eastern and Northern Railways, according to a spokesman of the Railway Ministry.
"The results published in the website are unauthorised and this has been done apparently for fraudulent purposes ... General public is advised not to pay heed to such misleading information," it was stated in an official press release on Wednesday.
An official at the ministry said the matter was brought to their notice by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), which hosts all the official websites of the Indian Railways.
The ministry will now forward the information to the concerned railway zones which make selections and recruitments for their staff.
Their vigilance departments will initiate action against the website operators after ascertaining their identity, he stated.
In a similar case earlier, where a private website had published wrong results of railway recruitments without authorisation, the zonal railway headquarters at Patna had filed an FIR with the police against those operating the website, the official said.
