Rains continue to lash north India

The maximum temperatures at many places had stayed below the normal range on Sunday.

The mercury stayed several degrees below normal for the fourth consecutive day in North India on Monday as rains continued to lash the region.

Light to moderate rains lashed Chandigarh, Hisar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Srinagar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Bhuntar and Rampur, the Meteorological Department in Chandigarh said.

The maximum temperatures at many places had stayed below the normal range on Sunday also providing respite from scorching heat this summer.
