The BSP is a force to be reckoned with because of its vote-base among the Satnami community and its candidates in the last two elections has managed to get a large number of votes.

The seat is represented by BJP strongman Brijmohan Agrawal, who will seek re-election for the forth time in succession. Agrawal, a senior and vocal BJP leader had been trouble following his role during the state party elections incurring the wrath of elder BJP leaders.
