In a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, Delhi State Rajnikant Fans Welfare Association (DSRFWA) alleged Ramadoss' supporters came "well-prepared" with sticks and axes to attack the superstar's fans on April 2, 2004.

Their action was in apparent retaliation against the fans showing black flag to the PMK leader while he was going to address a rally.

Ten persons, including four journalists, were injured in the violence.

Madurai police had filed a case of attempt to murder against Ramadoss and 23 party workers in connection with the attack.

DSRFWA President SK Pandian said EC officials in Tamil Nadu had informed him that a detailed report of the incident had been forwarded to the CEC, but expressed regret that "so far no action has been taken."

"We hope you take strong action against Dr Ramadoss and his followers for violation of the Model Code of Conduct," Pandian said in the letter.
