Talking to reporters at the local sports stadium where World Cup matches were in progress, he said those who were opposing Kabaddi have never promoted any sports culture in the country.

He underlined the need to promote traditional sports like Kabaddi and wrestling.

Earlier, Nepal and Afghanistan failed to pose any challenge before India and UK respectively, and were comprehensively beaten by 21-67 and 13-68 margins.

In another hard-fought match, Canada defeated Australia by 51-39 margin.
