Ransom demanded for Jharkhand assembly employee's release

Police today remained clueless about the whereabouts of an abducted Jharkhand assembly employee, whose family has received a Rs 2 crore ransom call from suspected Maoists.

Police on Tuesday remained clueless about the whereabouts of an abducted Jharkhand assembly employee, whose family has received a Rs 2 crore ransom call from suspected Maoists.

According to police, Rabindra Kumar was abducted on Sunday night from his house situated on the outskirts of Ranchi.

His family received a Rs 2 crore ransom call on Monday, police said.

According to police, a Maoist organisation - Jharkhand Prastuti Committee - is suspected to have abducted Rabindra Kumar.
