ABDUCTORS OF Dr. Narayana Hari of Ambah township of Morena have made a demand of Rs 30 lakhs for his release.

Meanwhile, lawyers all over the district have decided to go on a pen down strike on February 14 to protest against the police inaction to ensure the safe release of the doctor.

The abducted doctor’s relatives said they had received a telephone call from the abductors who demanded Rs 30 lakhs for his release and they also allowed Dr. Hari to talk to his family over telephone. The abductors have threatened to increase the ransom money by 10 lakhs if the doctor’s kin failed to give them Rs 30 lakhs in time.

Superintendent of Police Ravi Gupta said the police pressure on the abductors continues and police search parties based on information available on the probable hideouts of the abductors were being sent. Police have also detained the abductor’s relatives at the police station to pressurize them.

While doctors all over the district are already on strike, lawyers have also decided to observe a pen down strike on February 14 in protest. Dr. Narayana Hari was abducted while he was returning to Ambah after taking part in a marriage function in Gwalior on February 2.
