‘Rapist’ torments girl, drives her to suicide
A 16-year-old girl committed suicide by consuming pesticide at her residence in Ram Vihar in Ghaziabad on Saturday, police said.

A 16-year-old girl committed suicide by consuming pesticide at her residence in Ram Vihar in Ghaziabad on Saturday, police said.
The victim’s family has alleged that the girl killed herself due to the harassment from a 23-year-old man, who had allegedly raped her in August last year.
The girl’s father, Pawan Kumar Verma, told Hindustan Times, “The accused, Chaman Sharma continuously harassed my daughter after he was released on bail. On Friday, Sharma told her to compromise over the case and marry him. She has been depressed since then.”
DIG Akhil Kumar said, “We will lodge an FIR once a complaint is lodged.”
