Talking to the Hindustan Times, director general medical and health V Nath said that no extra health employees would be posted at the RDC. She said doctors and technicians posted there had to operate all the machines and the department would impart training to them. No body would come from other districts to operate these latest machines, she added.
A local MLA Dr RMD Agrawal took up the issue of shortage of doctors with the Chief Minister and demanded appointment of separate technical staff for the RDC. He expressed his displeasure at the installation of city scan machine without any radiologist.
The RDC was established here to provide the patients with the best pathological tests. However, the centre lying closed for past six months and no one is paying attention to it.
At present, there are eight air-conditioners, two X-ray machines, , one 12-channel stage system with trade mill, one 165 litre refrigerator, one oxygen cylinder of 45-litre capacity, one pressure regulator, one cardio monitoring set, one aliser and other valuable items. These items worth Rs 5 crore were imported from Germany and people were hoping that for cardiac patients the centre would be a boon.
