Residents ask authorities to shift ‘stinking’ cow shed

Residents of Sector 56 are opposing the proposed conversion of a temporary cow shelter into a permanent one by the MCG. They have complained of the stench emanating from the shed.

The shelter, which was built to keep stray cattle off roads during the CWG, is home to more than 200 cows.

“This is a Huda land earmarked for a school. Now the shelter is being made permanent,” said DD Sharma, a resident of Sector 56, said. “Due to lack of proper cleaning, the stench emanating from there is making people sick,” he added.
