Sen would appear before the Lok Sabha committee at 4 pm on Monday. He will depose before the Rajya Sabha committee on November 2.
The Ambassador is expected to repeat the apology he has tendered to Parliament through Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
When the nuclear deal was being debated in the monsoon session, Sen was quoted as saying: “Why do you have all this running around like headless chicken, looking for a comment here or comment there, and these little storms in a tea cup?”
Congress’s Rajya Sabha member Arjun Sen Gupta has written to members of the Upper House’s privileges panel that it would not be good for the country to stigmatise the outstanding diplomat.
